It may not be October yet but we’re ready for pumpkin everything! With Fall just around the corner we did a little pumpkin watercolor activity today that I’m going to share. We did a similar Halloween watercolor resist activity with this Spider Web craft last year, but this year we’re trying out oil pastels instead rubber cement. I love how these turned out, they’d be perfect strung up as a watercolor pumpkin garland for Halloween!

Supplies we used to make our Watercolor Resist Pumpkins:
Directions:
To begin, take your white cardstock paper and cut out your pumpkin shapes.
Then I had the kids create jack o’ lantern faces on their pumpkins using oil pastels.
After they made their faces, they were ready to paint! Grab your watercolors and color in your pumpkins. I loved seeing all the different jack o’ lantern faces the kids come up with. The sad face pumpkin was my son’s favorite one!
