This Coffee Filter Christmas Tree Ornament craft is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers. The kids love creating a tye dye effect with the water bottle and designs they color on the filters. The end result is a gorgeous Christmas tree that you can display for the holidays!
How To Make a Christmas Tree Ornament with Coffee Filters
Supplies Needed:
- Large Popsicle Stick
- Glue
- Star Stickers
- Ribbon
- Coffee Filters
- Washable Markers
- Water Bottle
- Tray (optional for the mess when spraying the filters)
Directions:
Step 1: Color two coffee filters with washable markers. We used green, yellow, and some red for ornaments.
Step 2: Place your coffee filters in a tray. We used a disposable aluminum tray. Then spray them with a water bottle. After you’ve sprayed both your filters, set aside to completely dry. You can also use a blow dryer to speed up this process.
Step 3: Take your dried coffee filters and fold the in half. Then fold in half again to create a triangle.
Step 4: Then glue both triangles onto your large Popsicle stick. You’ll see it’ll look like a tree. Then place on your star on top.
Step 5: Flip your tree over and finally glue on a piece of ribbon so you can hang it on your Christmas tree.
