Dr. Seuss’s birthday is approaching on March 2nd, and in honor of his birthday every year we celebrate Read Across America Day. In honor of the big celebration coming up we recently made this Paper Bag Fox Puppet in honor of the book “Fox In Socks”.
Younger kids love making paper bag puppets because there fun to make and then they get to play with the craft afterwards! These paper bag puppets are a simple classic craft that’s super easy to make and uses common house supplies.
Supplies Needed:
– Brown Paper Bag
– Colored Cardstock
– White Cardstock
– Scissors
– Glue Stick
– White Chalk Marker
– Fox In Socks Paper Bag Puppet Template
Directions:
Download and print out the free printable puppet template here. You can print it on the specific colors of cardstock or print it on white cardstock and the kids can decorate and color it themselves. Once they’re printed you’ll cut out the pieces.
Position the orange body onto your brown paper bag and glue it on. Then attach the head onto the top flap of the bag. Then glue the white eyes onto the face.
Next place the blue socks on the end of the arms and glue in place. Then glue each of the arms onto the backside of the paper bag.
Finally you can add in some details on the bag with the white chalk marker.
Then you’re finished! The Fox In The Socks puppet turns out so cute! The kids will love playing with it while acting out the story.
