Celebrate Read Across America with these free Dr Seuss printable bookmarks that kids can color in and decorate! Dr. Seuss’s books are the standard classic children’s books. When my kids first started reading these books were there favorites to practice with. We would read One Fish Two Fish, Cat In The Hat, and Green Eggs and Ham nightly.
Since we love coloring pages and DIY crafts so much we made these Cat In The Hat bookmarks that you can print, cut, and color. Then when you’re done we included a simple tassle DIY to top off your bookmark.

Step 1: Download the printable Cat In The Hat Bookmarks here and print them out on white card stock.
Let your kids decorate the bookmarks using crayons or markers.
Step 2: Cut out the bookmarks and hole punch a hole at the top.
Step 3: Fold a piece of card stock in half and then over until it’s been folded four times total.
Step 4: Wrap thread around the cardstock until your desired thickness has been reached. Forty times seems to work perfectly.
Step 5: Carefully slide the thread off the cardstock and do not allow it to close together. Keep the loop open. Cut the thread from the spool.
Step 6: Gently slide thread through the loop and leave it hang.
Step 7: Cut a long piece of thread and start wrapping it around the top as you see in the photo below. Secure by tying a knot. Trim off the excess thread.
Step 8: Take your scissors and slide them into the middle of the loop and cut the bottom of the loop to create a tassel.
Step 9: Tie a knot into the piece of thread you left hanging and then loop it through the hole in the bookmark.
