Hot dogs are one of our favorite classic meals to whip up for lunch or dinner. But today I’m sharing some fun twists on the classic hot dog recipe that kids love! We took some Bar-S Franks and made these delicious Pizza Dogs and Hot Dog Toasted Cheese Sandwiches!

Grilled Cheese Hot Dog Sandwich
You’ll need the following:
– Bread
– Slices of Cheese
– Bar-S Franks
– Favorite condiments like Ketchup, pickles, etc.
The first recipe I’m going to share is the Grilled Cheese Hot Dog Sandwich. First prepare the hot dogs according to the package directions. Meanwhile, you can toast the bread either in the toaster or put the bread on the grill for a minute or two to toast each side. Spread on your condiments onto the bread, we used ketchup for ours. Next place a slice of cheese on the bread. When the hot dogs are cooked slice them down the center lengthwise, then you’ll place the hot dogs on the cheese.
Then layer the other slice of bread and your remaining condiments. Top with the second slice of bread. Our cheese usually melts because the hot dogs are still warm but if you want to melt the cheese a little more put it on the skillet for a minute or two.
Pizza Hot Dogs
You’ll need the following:
– Bar-S Franks
– Pizza Sauce
– Shredded Cheese
– Mini Pepperoni
– Hot Dog Buns
First cook your Bar-S Franks according to the package. Place the hot dog in the bun and add your pizza toppings. Start with a small spoonful of pizza sauce. Next sprinkle on some cheese and your pepperoni. Broil for a minute or two to melt the cheese!
