I’m guilty of never giving my husband enough credit for all that he does. Besides working hard at his job, he’s been looking into underwater welding schools to work on a degree to better support us. so it makes for very long and lonely days as a stay at home/ working mom of two, while he’s gone for days or weeks at a time. He is truly one of the greatest father’s that I know, even after some days of working 10-15 hour days he makes it a point to spend time with our family as soon as he’s home. He sacrifices a lot of time with his family so that we can have the things we have. He works hard so that the kids and I are taken care of, and he is willing to miss out on so much so that I can stay at home with our kids. I am so proud that my children have him to call daddy, and he should be reminded not only on Father’s Day but everyday just how much we appreciate all that he does for us.
He lives and breathes our family; everything he does is for us and our future. Thank you for your patience, your never-ending support and most importantly your love. You are the frame that holds this entire house together, thank you for being the best father that I know!
Here are some sweet and easy ways to celebrate dad on father’s day or all year round to remind him that he’s doing better than he thinks!
A special dinner – Have the kids help cook dad his favorite dinner, go to his favorite restaurant, or make a super special meal like this Father’s Day Super Hero Lunch.
Kid-Made Gifts – Kids love to create and the best gifts are the personalized ones that come from your children. You can do an easy colorful Father’s Day art project like this one here, or check out our round up of Kid-Made Fathers Day gifts here for some inspiration.
A special date night – Plan out a date night and schedule in a babysitter. Surprise him with tickets to a game or dinner and a movie.
Breakfast in bed – What better way to start the day than with dad’s favorite breakfast, and make sure to get the kids involved in it too! You can have the kids make him this super cute Father’s Day personalized gift mug for his morning coffee. Or you can make dad these Father’s Day themed pancakes here.
Pamper Dad – Mom’s aren’t the only ones who appreciate a nice spa treatment. Treat dad to a relaxing day by setting up a nice massage appointment. Turn it into a gift from the kids and make this awesome Race Track Car Shirt, a kid-made gift and massage in one! And let him relax with a personalized “I Love You” pillowcase made by the kids.
Gift Basket– Make him a gift basket of his favorite things.
Father’s Day Printable Coupon Book – If you’re looking for some cute frugal gift ideas this free printable coupon book is perfect! And what’s great about this set is that each coupon is blank so your kids can come up with coupon ideas for daddy!
Favorite Activity – Whatever dad’s favorite activity is (fishing, hiking, etc), make a day of it with the family.
Thank him – Just like moms, dads work hard and love their kids unconditionally. However, it’s very easy to forget that dads also need to hear that they, too, are #doingood. Write him a thank you letter and include all of the kids using some fun handprint art like the Father’s Day Cards below.
