This week Little J and I made our own glossy Valentine’s Day paint to create these colorful hearts! The paint includes two ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry, Corn syrup and food coloring! The corn syrup leaves the paint with a pretty glossy finish and to top the hearts off we added some red and silver glitter.

You’ll need the following
Card Stock Paper
Corn Syrup
Food Coloring (We used Neon)
First you’ll mix about 1 tablespoon of corn syrup with 5 drops of food coloring in a small bowl. We used neon food coloring for more vibrant colors. Next cut out your heart shapes out of your card stock paper and have your child start painting!
When Little J would add in different colors they would create these gorgeous colorful swirls like the picture below. The project wasn’t as messy as I thought it would be, but just to be safe we put down parchment paper underneath our art projects. The drying times vary depending on how thick your little one puts their paint on. We sat ours out overnight but there were still a few that needed a little longer to dry.
We’re working on more today to start our own Cosmic Heart garland! These would look beautiful strung up to display! Make sure to pin our easy Valentine’s Day art project and follow us on Pinterest for more fun Valentine’s Day crafts!
