Every Christmas my family goes crazy for OREO cookie balls, it’s our tradition to always make a ton of batches when we start baking our holiday cookies. Not only does the OREO cookie ball taste amazing, but the recipe is so easy that anyone can make these.
We usually stick to the traditional OREO cookie ball recipe but this year I thought I’d switch things up a bit and with the kids being completely obsessed with Frozen at the moment we opted for a fun Frozen inspired twist to the classic recipe.
There are SO many delicious OREO flavors to choose from. I stopped by my local Walmart last night to pick the ingredients up to start my holiday baking and I always have a hard time in the cookie aisle and not picking up one of each flavor! You can choose any kind of Oreo for the recipe if you want to try a different flavor but we went with the classic this time.
OREO Cookie Balls Recipe
- 1 pkg (8 oz.) brick cream cheese, softened
- 36 OREO Cookies, finely crushed (about 3 cups)
- 4 pkg. (4 oz. each) semi-sweet white baking chocolate, melted
Optional Ingredients
- Blue Sprinkles (Or snowflakes if they’re available)

Start by mixing the cream cheese and cookie crumbs until well blended. Next you’ll shape the dough into 48 (1-inch) balls like the picture below on a wax paper lined pan. Then stick them in the freezer for at least 10 min.
While the cookie balls are hardening in the freezer, you’ll want to melt your chocolate according to the package directions. After you take the balls out you’ll dip them in the chocolate. I found the easiest way is to use a skewer for this step. After you’ve dipped them, you’ll place them on the wax paper-lined pan and immediately sprinkle with your sprinkles. Finally you will keep them in the fridge for about 1 hour or until firm and then enjoy!
