This post is brought to you by Boudeaux’s Butt Paste and The Motherhood. However, all opinions are my own.
It’s always nice to congratulate new parents on the new addition to their family and help out a little even if it’s just a small gesture. Here are some of our favorite ideas that I’ve received after having my children and a few that I’ve given to friends after they’ve given birth. And don’t forget to enter our giveaway at the end of the post!
Gift Ideas For New Moms – What They Really Want!
Show the new mom you care with these thoughtful gifts she’ll love!
Sleep – Sleep isn’t just something that every mother wants it’s also something that they need. Especially after you’ve just spent hours or days in labor and a few nights attempting to sleep on a rock hard hospital bed. If you go to visit for a few hours, insist that she goes to take a nap. I know those first few days you’re staying up with your baby getting adjusted to the new routine but let her know that you’re here for her if she needs a break.
Food – You can’t ever go wrong with bringing over food for new parents. When we had our first child our friends brought over a few frozen casserole meals that were perfect to pop into the oven on those days where I had only a few hours of sleep and I didn’t feel like cooking. If you’re unsure about what kind of foods that they’d like you can also opt for a gift card for take-out or delivery!
Diapers, Wipes, and Butt Paste – There are always those moments when your stash runs low, and the worst timing is always in the middle of the night. Some of the best gifts were ones that were practical like diapers, wipes, and Boudreaux’s Butt Paste because we went through so much of them. If you’re buying diapers it’s always a good idea to go up a few sizes and buy a few different sizes because newborns grow so fast. I also loved having Butt Paste on hand for those inevitable diaper rash moments. They’re available in three types; Original Butt Paste for minor or moderate rashes, Maximum Strength for stubborn rashes and All Natural for minor or moderate rashes made with natural ingredients and is petrolatum free. With the variety of products there’s something for all-types of rashes and all of them have simple ingredients while giving quick results.
Photography Session – A gift certificate to a photography session to document those precious moments.
Maid Service – This is a great idea especially if they have other kids. You can offer to drop or pick them up from practice or school. Offer to run for errands or groceries. Or even stop over and help out with dishes and little chores around the house.
