Christmas may seem like a long way away and we’ve only just started to get into autumn however with so much going on over the end of the year with Halloween, bonfire night and Thanksgiving Christmas will be here before you know it. There is so much to do before the big day so we’re starting early making it stress-free and easier to manage. There are lots of different things you can do early to get preparations underway. Some you can do around now, some you can do over the next few months but it will help you be super organised.
Stocking Up For Christmas Craft Time
I want Christmas time every year when the kids get out all of the festive craft kits and I have lots of ideas on how to make fun Christmas decorations, Christmas cards and even some gifts for relatives. This is just another added expense on Christmas which she won’t need when you’re buying presents and lots of other things so this is something that you can look at starting early. All of the Christmas craft kits may not be out yet. There are lots of other things you can get as long as you stick towards the red and green colours you can have a festive craft supply in no time. You can look to get different coloured papers, Pom poms and pipe cleaners. There are so many different things that you can get so that when the festive time comes you’re fully stocked and the kids will have endless amounts of fun from the craft items that you have ready.
Start Getting Stocking Fillers
Stocking fillers are quite an easy one to get started on early. You can buy things like chocolate treats and sweets as long as the expiry date allows. You could also look to get little toys, teddies and anything else you normally put in a stocking filler. These are presents that a lot of people forget about towards Christmas as they’re focused on the food and the big presents so getting this done and out the way is a great idea and prevent you from forgetting it and having to rush around at the last minute when there is nothing left on the shelves.
Pick Up Some Of The High Price Items
Stocking fillers are a great thing to get early but also sometimes the higher price items a great start early as well. For example, if you were going to buy someone a holiday it may be that you pay instalments so starting early means that they can be fully paid up by the time you get to Christmas. It also gives you time to shop around and find the most affordable price for what you’re looking to buy and if you are looking to get a refurbished item you can also look to Shop the Rolex Datejust from WatchBox. It also means when you get towards Christmas I need to buy all the other presents, decorations and food you don’t have any big expenses going out.
Declutter The House
This is a job that a lot of people want to do before Christmas and it can be very stressful while planning Christmas and decluttering and tidying your whole house at the same time. So by getting an early start and doing a Declutter you leave yourself less work at a more stressful time. Take keep room by room and focus on the big things first I take up a lot of space say this is things like clothes, books and toys. There is no doubt about it that kids will get piles of toys at Christmas so clear out all of the toys they no longer use and you can be get rid of them if they are no good or you can donate them to children in need who could do with having some toys to play with. The same goes for your clothes and books, give away what you can and get rid of the rest. We all keep so much stuff that we never or hardly use and it’s just wasting space, collecting dust and making the place look messy. So make time before the Christmas rush to get this done beforehand. Your future self will thank you.
Decide Who Is Hosting Christmas
Sometimes Christmas is hosted by the same person every year but it is different for all families. Sometimes it changes every year so if you can work this out earlier you will know if you have to make or bring anything in particular, what their perfect ‘thank you for hosting’ present would be as well. You could do it by choosing a name out of a hat or if it is something that everyone wants to do you could organise a games night and the winner will get to host Christmas you can make choosing a host fun.
Guest List And Invites
The big day can be such a big affair so having a guest list is perfect for helping you work out how much food, snacks and to drink you will need to buy. Then you can make some Christmas Day invites and send them out to everyone. You can include them on the invites if you want them to bring anything like a dessert or roast potatoes so that not all of the work is on you. It is always a way to double-check everyone is coming. They might have changed their minds and are spending it somewhere else that year and forgot to tell you. It also helps if you need to cater to any particular dietary requirements and find the best veggie or vegan alternatives out there.
Although Christmas is just one day there is such a build-up and so much to do, so the things you can do in advance will help make your life easier. To see what else you can do beforehand to help you prepare what you can in advance.
