As LeapFrog Mom Ambassador, I receive products, promotional items and educational material to use and share as I see fit. However, any opinions expressed by me are honest and reflect my actual experience.

I’m so excited to have partnered up with LeapFrog Mom Squad this fall, we have had LeapFrog products in our house ever since our oldest son Jace was a baby. My kids loved their LeapFrog My Pal Scout & Violet and their LeapFrog Shapes and Sharing Picnic Basket. And even now that my oldest is 4 and in preschool we still use LeapFrog products in our everyday play. Nothing is better than a product that can combine both education and fun so that kids don’t even realize they’re learning while they play.

LeapPad Platinum

Now I know when it comes to tablets and your preschooler, parents are always a little hesitate when making that big purchase. With so many different versions out that it can be hard to figure out which one is right for your child. For our oldest I wanted something that featured high quality educational apps and that is safe enough for my 4 year old to use. Which is why we love the LeapPad Platinum which features kid-safe web with LeapSearch, shatterproof screen, and parental controls so you can put your mind at ease. So you’ll know they wont stumble across any inappropriate content, you can time how long they can use it, and purchases can be made to be protected with a password.

Some of the amazing features on the LeapPad Platinum are:

  • Kid-Safe Web and Parental Controls – You can manually go in and set up parental control on what you want your kids to be able to have access to.
  • Fast processor that includes 8GB memory to hold up to 40,000 photos or 100+ game apps.
  • Built to last –  Featuring a shatter-Safe 7 inch, high resolution, multi-touch screen and includes a wrap around bumper.
  • 5+ hours of rechargeable battery.
  • Peer to peer connectivity.
  • 1,000 + games that are available to download and purchase.
  • Two cameras and video recorder.
  • And if you’re upgrading from a LeapPad 1 or 2, your games are compatible with the LeapPad Platinum.

One of the popular features for my kiddos and me, is the kid-safe web browser, which lets the kids view and search kid-appropriate videos that are prescreened by experts. There are tons of learning videos and other fun videos like cartoons and animal videos that the kids can watch.

LeapPad Imagicards

Another cool feature is the addition of Imagicards. They are actual cards that resemble playing cards, that the kids can use to interact with on their LeapPads. By using the camera on the LeapPad children can scan Imagicards and watch as characters from the cards come to life on the screen with fun games and activities that are perfect for all age  groups. And if you’re tablet is charging, the Imagicards can also be used as physical playing cards. Each deck comes in a tin box with an activation code and a play mat for card sorting.

Right now my son’s favorite Imagicard are the Paw Patrol, he get’s a little frustrated with the Ninja Turtle one because he’s still a little young for the games on it but my nephew who’s in first grade love it! The Paw Patrol is perfect for younger kids ages 3-5, and teaches them number recognition, shapes, counting, patterns, addition, and subtraction. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Imagicards are for ages 5-8 and they review math concepts like addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and fractions. And we also have the Letter Factory Carnival deck that’s for ages 4-7. The Letter Factory focuses on literacy skills like spelling, phonics, and word sounds.

LeapFrog Word Whammer

Another great toy is the Leapfrog Word Whammer, this has been a great tool for my preschooler to practice letter skills while being active and having fun. It works on phonics skills as they push, spin, and twist the handle to identify letters and build words. This is great to prepare them for kindergarten! It includes 3 action packed games and 5 learning levels that adapt as your child plays.
