Cardstock or Construction Paper
Paper Bags
Glue
Scissors
Black Marker
Crayons or Markers

Instructions:

Download and print out the template here.

Cut the template out.

Cut large squares of cardstock (flesh tones) or construction paper and glue onto the paper bag. You want to glue on the side that the square bottom flaps up.

Use scissors to trim off any excess paper from the sides.

Trace the mermaid’s tail template onto cardstock and cut out.

Glue a square of green or blue (or whatever color you want) paper onto the bottom of the paper bag. Use scissors to trim off any excess.

Glue the tail on the back of the paper bag, aligning it with the colored paper.

Use crayons or markers to color in the seashell bra. Cut out and glue to the front of the paper bag.

Trace the hair template onto colored paper and cut out.

Glue the hair onto the top of the paper bag. Use scissors to trim off any excess paper.

Trace the small oval onto pink paper, cut out and glue onto the center of the mermaid’s face.

Cut the eyes out and glue onto the mermaid.

Use a black marker to add a smile and scales to the tail.

Cut a flower from cardstock and glue onto the mermaid’s hair!

Your mermaid paper bag puppet is finished!
