Valentine Snack Cakes Butterfly Treat

February 9, 2017 by Jackie Cravener

With my son in preschool I’m always looking for easy treat ideas for snacks days and classroom parties. This month for Valentine’s Day we came up with a few ideas that we’ll be sharing with you this week. The first one is this simple Snack Cake Butterfly Treat, these are perfect to share as a treat for class or even just as a special treat just because!

Gather your supplies and follow the simple directions below!

Materials used to make our Butterfly Treats:

  • Little Debbie Snack Cakes
  • Clothespins
  • Washi Tape
  • Googly Eyes
  • Glue
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Zipper Snack Bags

Directions:

First you’ll want to gather up all of your supplies, you can use Little Debbie snack cakes for this treat or fill it with something else like crackers, pretzels, or anything that will fit into a small snack bag. These heart snack cakes were the perfect shape for butterfly wings so we chose those.

Then, so that there was enough room to put a clothespin between the cakes we put them in small zipper snack bags. Zip them up and insert a decorated clothespin between the two cakes.

You can decorate the clothespins with decorative washi tape or just use some paint and markers to create your own designs. And finally, you’ll glue on your googly eyes and clip your pipe cleaner antennas on to the top of you clothespin! Now, they’re ready to give to your Valentine!
