Egg Carton Flowers

February 15, 2017 by Jackie Cravener 15 Comments

I had a few egg cartons left over from all of our egg dyeing festivities from Easter, so we decided to make some fun Spring themed crafts with them. I’m going to show you how to make these colorful egg carton flowers that are perfect to display or make as a gift for Mother’s Day.

Here’s what you’ll need to make our egg carton art:

– Acrylic Paint
– Egg Carton (not foam)
– Paper Straw
– Pom Poms
– Scissors
– Glue
– Paint Brush

Egg Carton Flowers

Directions:

First you’ll have an adult cut out four containers out of the egg carton. Trim around the edges so that it gives it a rounder shape for the petals of the flower.

Squirt some acrylic paint colors onto a paper plate and have the kids paint their flowers. Use any colors you’d like or use a pastel palate like we did above.

After the paint’s dried you can attach the stem of the flower by gluing it to the back. We used a paper straw so that it was thick enough to hold up the egg carton, if you use something like a pipe cleaner it will just bend. Next choose a colored pom pom and glue that to the center of the painted egg carton.

What a cure and cleaver idea! i think my Sunday School class would love making these, that is if I can get past the mess that 3-4 year olds can make with paint! We would love for you to share with us over at Party in Your PJs, our weekly link party.
