For today’s post I wanted to start going over something that’s very important for just about every blogger out there, and that is how to start making money with your blog. This post is just going to be an overview of the three main ways I make money with my websites, but I will be releasing follow-up posts over the next couple weeks with a more in-depth explanation of these various money making tactics so make sure to subscribe to us. The main topics I will be discussing today are Ad Networks, Affiliate Marketing, and Selling a Product or Service.

Ad Networks
Ads are one of the main ways any blogger makes money through their website and this will most likely be your first step towards internet riches. When you place an ad on your website most Ad Networks will pay you depending on CPC, CPM, or both.
Now you maybe wondering what Ad Network to join. Well, I find that this answer is based mostly on personal preference, but personally I usually go with Google’s Adsense program. Chitika is also a nice alternative if for some reason you don’t want to use Adsense or you don’t get approved.
Don’t expect to slap some ads on your site and expect the cash to start rolling in, there is a lot more you can do to increase your earnings through your ads such as ad placement. But I will get into this in my follow-up post for this money making series along with talking about other Ad Networks I’ve had the chance to work with.
Affiliate Networks
Affiliate marketing is another way you can start bringing in the big bucks with your blog, but will have you constantly on your toes thinking of different ways to market different products and services. For those unfamiliar with Affiliate Marketing, it is a way to make money promoting various products, services, or even by getting people to sign up to a site. Sometimes you can find sites that pay you a certain percentage or commission, but sometimes you may come across affiliate networks that pay you a set price. Either way it is a very nice way to increase your website’s revenue.
You can use some of the well known Affiliate Networks like Amazon Associates, ShareASale, or CJ.com (to name a few) to get product links that you can incorporate into your content or just some banner ads to add to your site where clicks and sign-ups earn you a commission or a flat fee. You could even use a site like Socialspark.com to get opportunities to write sponsored posts for a fee from well-known companies. There are numerous Affiliate Networks and tactics I could go on and on about, so make sure to check back for my follow-up post later this month regarding making money with Affiliate Networks
Products or Services
This is a money making tactic that some people tend to overlook and it involves selling a product you personally make or a service you can provide to people. You might be thinking this doesn’t really apply to you, but you would be surprised at the numerous ways that this could apply to you.
For example if you find that after so long of running your website you have gotten rather good at designing buttons, logos, or even fonts, you could design these various things to sell on sites like Etsy.com. This is only a few of the many ways you can put your skills to use and earn a pretty penny at it too, so make sure to check back for the follow up post regarding how to make money with your blog by selling products or services.
