National Super Heroes Day is approaching, aka Mother’s Day and I’m teaming up with Chick-Fil-A to bring you the sweetest Mother’s Day craft to celebrate moms, our everyday heroes. We may not have capes or a fancy suit, but we do heal boo-boos with just a kiss and super hearing that can go down halls and penetrate doors.
This Mother’s Day weekend I’ll be spending it with my children at one of our favorite place’s in Pittsburgh, The Pittsburgh Children’s Museum! I’ll be surprising them with the event Hero Night, to celebrate moms. There will be a red carpet, a dance floor, all kinds of hero-themed activities, as well as some delicious Chick-Fil-A food and fun opportunities to support Glimmer of Hope. I can’t wait!
If you’re considering going, click here for details on getting tickets. The event is taking place Mother’s Day weekend- Saturday March 13th from 6:30-9:30 in the evening. All ticket sales benefit Glimmer of Hope Foundation. I hope to see you there!
Ready to make your mason jar votives? Let’s begin!
Mother’s Day Candle Holders
- Mason Jar
- Contact Paper
- Acrylic Paint
- Gift Tag
Begin by cutting out a heart shape out of your contact paper and placing it onto your mason jar. Then take your primer and cover your mason jar with a layer of primer. Once your primer has dried then it’s time to paint! I set out some colors on a paper plate and let my toddler paint away at the mason jar.
Watch the video tutorial for how to make a Mother’s Day Votive or follow the directions below.
Once your paint has dried you can remove your heart shaped contact paper. Then take some string and a gift tag and write a special note to whomever you’re gifting it to.
And finally place your votive in your candle holder! You can find these at the dollar store for a pack of two.
