Income Breakdown
First off I want to point out how amazing our total revenue is for this month. Jackie came in at $2653.05 for the entire month of November which is 404% better than October. The reason for her huge jump in revenue is because of her DIY Olaf Footprint Ornament article becoming pretty popular, especially on Facebook. We ended up peaking at around 35,000 views on the 5th of November after a huge social media share and has since kept a steady high number. Because of this boost to traffic her ad earnings were, as expected, pretty high. The increased traffic also gave her a boost in affiliate revenue, particularly Amazon. Another reason for the increased revenue is because of the holidays. With the holidays comes amazing deals for just about everything, so people are going to start being more “adventurous” with their money. Either way, you are going to want to use affiliate articles and your social media profiles to promote all those countless deals that will be popping up for the rest of December.
In addition to our increased revenue, we made another change to our ad networks with the addition of The Blogger Network. Ads from The Blogger Network were only added on November 11 but, we are already seeing some amazing rates from them. The Blogger Network so far has been a great choice for the site and we are pretty pleased with their services and amazing customer support. For now it looks like we will be having all of our ads running from The Blogger Network and no longer from Adsense or BuySellAds.

Traffic Breakdown
With the popularity of Jackie’s article the site had a tremendous boost in traffic at the beginning of the month. Her article ended up being shared over 150,000 times on Facebook alone, which is pretty amazing. As you can tell, Facebook ended up taking a big lead in being our top referrer this month and our Pinterest traffic also seems to be recovering from that Pinterest update from 2 months back.
The biggest thing I’m excited about with our traffic sources has to be Google making it onto the list. Relying on social media for all of your traffic is fine, but I find it is bad practice to put all of your eggs into one basket. You don’t even really need to make any big changes to your site to make it optimized. There are tons of articles online that are great at showing the basics of SEO, like my On-Page SEO guide. Even applying some small changes can make the biggest difference, just don’t let this free traffic source go to waste.
Overall for November we are extremely happy with the traffic and not just because of the jump in traffic, but because our traffic has been staying at a steady high number. We noticed when one of Jackie’s articles would get extremely popular and the traffic just start flowing in, it would die down back to what it originally was within two to three days. We expected that once her Frozen ornament craft article peaked, but the traffic ended up staying at double what it was on a normal day throughout the month and it is still going quite steady.
Plans, Closing Remarks, and Some Rambling…
The first thing I wanted to at least mention is in regards with what I just got done talking about, which was increasing your traffic through search engines. Besides doing some SEO work to the site throughout the last 3 months, another reason for the jump in traffic was actually just coincidence. There was Frozen ornament that was actually going to be on sale at Hallmark, so as you may have guessed a lot of the search terms used from some of our visitors were for this product. It just so happened that Jackie released the article sometime around when the Hallmark ornament was released and the traffic just started to pour in. Something to take away from this would be that if you happen to know of any popular products coming out(like a kids toy, ornament, or even some sort of home decor), you could start trying to brainstorm different ideas that at least keep the theme of the popular product but with your own unique touch.
