Popsicle Stick Monsters

Hi everyone, it’s time for our monthly Kid Craft Stars challenge! Every month we have a challenge between a few blogger friends and I, to in-cooperate a different craft medium or technique into a simple kid craft. If you’re new here check out #kidcraftstars on Instagram to see what we’ve been up to and our past challenges. This months challenge was to come up with a monster themed craft, perfect for Halloween approaching. We did a super easy preschool craft using popsicle sticks.

Materials Needed:

  • Colored Popsicle Sticks – we used colored ones but you can paint them if you have plain ones.
  • Glue
  • Googly Eyes
  • Monster Decorations
  • Stock Paper
  • Scissors

Directions:

To start off we used colored popsicle sticks for this craft but if you had plain ones on hand you could paint them too. Take a few of them and lay them out side by side till you get the desired size of the monster then glue a stick on the back diagonal.

The fun part is that the kids can get so creative with this project, you can use whatever you have on hand to craft with for the ears, eyes, nose, mouth, hair, etc. Because my son’s still learning to use scissors I went ahead and cut out some premade shapes for the mouth, eyes, and horns from card stock paper.

After your kids are done creating their monsters you can hang these up or glue some magnets on the back and put them on your fridge!
