ViralTag Review: Social Media Management

January 23, 2015 by Sean Cravener

  • Facebook

The majority of my traffic referrals come from my social media profiles, and there’s quite a few at that from Tumblr, Pinterest, Facebook, and more. It’s very time consuming keeping up with a constantly growing social media page and managing your blog.

Luckily, websites like ViralTag can help you manage and grow your social media profiles without all the hassle and frustration.

What is ViralTag?

ViralTag is a fabulous social media management tool. However, unlike other social media management websites like Hootsuite, ViralTag has a big focus on images.

This makes it a perfect tool for any crafting or parenting blogger like I Heart Arts n Crafts, because most of the traffic comes from Pinterest and Facebook.

ViralTag Features

ViralTag lets you connect your Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Pinterest profiles which only leaves out Google+. Personally this isn’t a big issue to me since I never see much traffic come from Google+ for my site.

ViralTag Social Media Accounts

As for scheduling, ViralTag lets you use either a browser extension or you can do it straight from the site. I’ve found the browser extension to be quite convenient and have yet to have any issues with it. When you find something you want to schedule all you have to do is click on the extension which opens up a new window letting you select one or more images you’d like to schedule from the page.

ViralTag Extension

After selecting your images you can easily make changes to the description, site link, and scheduled time. The extension even allows you to schedule to multiple social media profiles at once (which is awesome for scheduling pins to multiple Pinterest profiles).

If you decide to schedule using their website, you will be offered a multitude of different ways to upload and schedule one or more images at a time. You can choose between uploading them directly from your computer, Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, Instagram, or even from different sources on the web.

ViralTag Bulk Upload

Another nice little feature that ViralTag has thrown into the mix includes the ability to enhance your images by changing the saturation, brightness, cropping, adding text, and much more. I personally haven’t had the need to use this feature but it is always nice knowing that it is available to me if ever needed.

The next thing I have grown pretty fond of on ViralTag is their Discovery feature, which is a curated list of images from other users separated by categories. Originally I didn’t think I’d use Discovery that much but when I find I don’t have much time to plan out what I wanted to share over the next couple of days I can easily find things to schedule through their Discovery feature in minutes.

The last and my personal favorite thing I wanted to mention is the ability to add pins to a queue. ViralTag lets you make your own time slots throughout each day of the week and specify the number of things to share each day. Afterwards you can just add thing you’d like to share to the queue without the need to specify a time!

So if you want to only repin 25 images split between 8am-10am and 5pm-9pm on Pinterest, ViralTag makes it a breeze! This is awesome for those of you who are tired of having to figure out specific peek times for each and every single thing you are sharing and is great for reviving old content.

Pricing

ViralTag offers some amazing plans to choosing from ranging from a free plan to a business plan. The free plan is obviously very limited and only lets you connect up to 3 social media profiles. You also aren’t allowed to connect a Pinterest account with the free plan, which I find makes the free plan useless but that’s because I use ViralTag solely for managing my Pinterest profiles.

Thankfully, ViralTag offers a 7 day free trial for their Pro Plan which is $29 a month. The Pro Plan lets you connect up to 10 social media profiles including Pinterest, which makes this plan ideal compared to the Buisiness Plan which is $99 a month. The only way you will need to use the Buisiness plan is if you manage more than one or two blogs.

Conclusion

In my opinion ViralTag is a perfect tool to have in your arsenal if you have a site that relies heavily on traffic from Pinterest. It’s Pro Plan is perfect and affordable for any blogger who needs help managing their growing audience.
